This house is one of the few, perhaps the only, house in Ocean Park three blocks from the beach with virtually a forever unobstructed ocean view from the second floor. The reason the ocean view is not threatened with obstruction is because the house is set back approximately 150 feet from the street, located on an up slope, at the top of the T between Third Street and Mills Street. Surrounded by bamboo trees and succulents, the house is quiet–unlike some other Ocean Park homes that may suffer noise from jet traffic at Santa Monica Airport. The house is wonderfully walkable, two blocks from an array of popular shops and restaurants, but also not too far by car from the 10 freeway, making it easy to get to downtown LA. The living room features accordion wood-framed glass doors that when fully opened give you an expansive modern indoor/outdoor feeling with no separation between the house and the patio. The house features refinished wood floors, large upstairs windows affording lots of light, new refrigerator and dishwasher in the kitchen, near hospital grade air filtration system and large glass tile Roman tub in the downstairs bathroom. The property, unlike many others, is zoned for multiple homes, be they condominiums or rentals–and the setback affords room for a large pool, as well. This house is not located in an historic district, so strict city regulations that apply to historic homes do not apply (2) This 2447 Third Street house, north of Ocean Park Blvd., has less traffic because Third Street north of OP Blvd. is not a through street to Venice–You have to make a right turn at Ocean Park Blvd–and can’t go straight through–which serves as a disincentive to drivers looking for shortcuts. Hence, it may be quieter and safer than some of the other streets.
