There is also a natural honeybee hive in the lower backyard. They are amazing to watch & help agriculture in the neighborhood and Foresthill. I do not recommend getting too close in the summers’ afternoon ‘in and out’ pollen collecting swarm around the hive – but watch at a distance. They do sting if caught in your hair. In the winter when they are dormant, there is a quiet buzz inside the log. The house is also passive solar. Numerous trees surround the house which produces shade and keeps the house cooler in the summer while the exposed deck in the southern winter sun heats up the back deck, so when opening the back door – heat can transfer to the inside of the house in mid-afternoon. There are many producing fruit trees, blackberries and grapes, along with some new plantings. The house is located one block off the main road. Restaurants nearby. There are many annual events (including parades) on the Main Street and at the local Memorial Park nearby. “The Lowe House” is the perfect first home, down-sizing, weekend getaway, second home with much character, heart and warmth to enjoy life for the right person or persons who are willing to take the time to care for the beautiful ambiance it encompasses.
