Although we are near the water and sailing cruises, there are no beaches in downtown. There are so many beaches nearby: Anastasia State Park (3 miles). Many people bike there. It's an 8 minute drive. Bike rentals are just down the street from our house at the Lincolnville museum. Vilano Beach, 5-10 minutes depending on traffic. St. Augustine Beach- 10-15 min, park anywhere along the island (free parking) Rent bikes to all the amazing downtown restaurants and museums + Under 10 minutes to multiple beaches + 1st floor bed+bath + Community pool (YMCA $2/person) Our house is in old town so all the sight seeing is where we are. There are many beaches nearby though- the closest being Anastasia State Park which would be across the Bridge of Lions from downtown. Many people bike or jog there but it's not walkable. It's an 8 minute drive. There are bike rentals just down the street from our house. Several other beaches are down the island from there or North of town is Vilano Beach, also 5-10 minutes depending on traffic. You can just park anywhere along the island and be at the beach.
