A domicile for unique living was masterfully designed and created by Raymond E. Davis with superior finishes and totally unlike any other. The design was his own, but was somewhat inspired in the style of Architect, Frank Lloyd Wright and is of Tahitian finishes. Upon completion the home was featured on the HGTV series "Extreme Homes". When entering the walled courtyard with brick pavers you will access the home through the hand carved front door, there you will immediately notice the special features of the hand painted mural, the full wall of hand carved walnut paneling to replicate tree trunks and the custom 20" floor tiles with hand pressed leaves. The large living lounge area with 22' coffered ceiling is supported by many engineered floor to ceiling steel beams. An extensive amount of copper was used both on the exterior as well as the interior of the home. The copper ceiling in main living area is reflected by 6'x4" mirror strips. The south wall of windows was manufactured by Pella solar bronze with 3/4" insulated double pane glass and are redwood encased all along the south wall and are slanted to provide some sound proofing. The distinct truncated pyramid copper clad roof design was chosen for the shape design as it allows for cohesive weight distribution along the base of the roofing structure allowing for incredibly stable wind and weather resistance and is favored in regions prone to high winds. The lot was elevated with 2,000 cubic yards of dirt as a foundation base, and 90 tons of imported boulder rock was added. The foundation construction is poured concrete with steel joist support; the home also sits on 4 columns and 40 piers. Exterior walls are constructed of brick and glass, the south and west wall are stucco. The average exterior wall height is 10-12 feet. The original dwelling consisted of 2102 SF; in 2013 an addition of 828 SF was added making an approx. total of 2930 SF. The home interior consists of kitchen with Jenn-Aire electric range, dishwasher, sub-zero wine fridge, new Kitchen-aide refrigerator, living area, 3 bedrooms (one could easily be used as another living area) 3 full baths and a 1/2 bath. The primary bedroom has two full baths. The home's flooring is of handmade tiles, travertine tile, some carpeting and also hardwood flooring.
