This is a very nice house in the Barkley neighborhood. Access to shopping at Barkley or over on James street by Trader Joe's is easy. The Lake Whatcom bike/walking trail is a block away. It's a nice bike ride to the lake and a great place for a walk. It sits on a slight hill and has a view of lots of sky and hills and the tip of Mt. Baker. I am the landlord and will answer the phone myself. The house is accessed from the alley, making it a bit quieter and more private than a house on a busy road. It is in excellent shape with new paint inside and outside and new expensive carpeting all through it. It is very well insulated and stays cool in the summer and warm in the winter. Actually, this house is very odd in how even the indoor temperature stays in the winter. It is a very comfortable house. It is heated with a forced air gas furnace and the cost is surprisingly low. The front bedroom is quite large and has a sliding door opening to the deck, the back bedrooms are average size. One of them has it's own private bathroom. The deck is about 500 square feet and is half covered and half open to the sky. Quite nice if you like year round outdoors. It has a small fenced yard with a locking gate. The gate can prevent access to the house if locked. There is a raised bed garden spot, a small lawn, and more flower area along the fence. There is a large storage shed in the back. The washer and dryer are new within the year. It is available November 1st. It is a one year lease. Damage deposit is one month's rent. Utilities include gas, water, electricity, and internet, all contracted separately by tenants. Tenants care for the yard with mowing etc. Damage insurance of $300,000 including liability is required. Screening will be on TurboTenant. Procedures will be shared before screening. Application is free and the background/credit check is $45. A reusable screening report will not be acceptable.
