I moved here in 1985 and signed a contract for deed in 1986. The house was an unfinished shell and for 30 years I have worked on it and the property to make it decent place to live. It's not fancy just plain and simple but I am not asking a fancy price for it especially considering the price of other houses in this area are selling for and especially considering what rent in this area is going for. Please note that despite what the zillow history says this house was not sold for 15000 in 1995 . I have lived here for 30 years, that's half of my life and I really hate to leave but due to some family health problems it is necessary. That's 30 years of building up the soil in a garden that was orginally red clay but now is good rich soil. 30 years of gathering heirloom varieties of white peach trees, concord grapes, white lilacs, jonquils, daffodils, irises, and various other plants. The house itself has large rooms the bedrooms are 12x14 and the kitchen is 12x14, the living room is 14.5x 31.5 and the bathroom is 7x8, small but functional. I have added a 10x22 enclosed porch and a 10x12 room which I had intended to make into a second bathroom but hadn't got to finish. The property is typical Ozark hill with spring and creek , some steep but some flat bench areas and lots of good native building stone. There is 2.2 miles of dirt road to get to the property. It was not very good when I first moved here but 30 years of improvementby the county road department has made it a decent road and it is slated for more improvement in the near future. The property around the place is a combination of pasture and woodlands and full of wildlife and mossycreek is well known locally for its deer hunting. Some of my favorite things to do is hunting morels and lions mane mushrooms as well as gingseng in the fall. I realize not everybody is cut out for the rustic country life but it is my hope that there is somebody out there that will want that lifestyle and learn to love this place as much as I do.
