Room details
Welcome to our House Community for the Arts & Humanities. We have a recently remodeled room available on AUGUST 1 in our beautiful home Our home emphasizes a creative atmosphere based in warmth, courtesy, and mutual support. In addition, we will begin offering a monthly arts event using our newly remodeled backyard venue.
We enjoy a beautifully furnished and very spacious Craftsman house with three levels and approximately 2400 square feet of living space. Amenities include a three-season porch, a living room with a wood-burning fireplace, a dining room with a concert-grade digital piano, and a fully equipped kitchen with ample counter space, multiple refrigerators, freezers, dishwasher, high-quality appliances, and top-grade cookware. The lower level includes a library/media room with projector, guest room, tool room, and laundry. There are two full bathrooms, a brick patio with deck area, and a garage with secure bicycle storage.
We are located in the friendly, safe, and beautiful Macalester neighborhood (top-ranked in the state) with easy access to major bus lines (70, A-Line/84, 63, 74S), and nearby parks, coffee shops, restaurants, and pubs.
The newly remodeled, very private room is available for $620/month. It features a large egress window with Southern exposure (good for plants). and ample storage. You may select furnishings that include a twin bed, desk, shelves, lamp, curtains, and area rug.
Residents without a car receive a $30/month rent reduction. This living arrangement is intended for a year-long residence, with a one-month trial period for to ensure a good mutual fit.
We are a family of friends. Current community members enjoy interests related to the creative arts (graphic arts, storytelling, piano, guitar, woodworking, play-writing) and the humanities (literature, history, medieval culture, teaching, environmental protection, education, travel).
We enjoy a vibrant community life that includes a monthly feast, birthday and holiday celebrations, and other special occasions. We also enjoy the delights of an adorable Ragdoll kitty named Mister Adorable. He likes to reign supreme (so no other cats or dogs, but small caged pets or fish are fine!).
We enjoy a serene and inspiring space, and we invite you to join us! A reliable source of income and references are required. If interested, please tell us about your involvement with the arts and humanities why our household looks like a good fit for you. We look forward to hearing from you!
We seek a long-term resident, but we use a month lease to secure your freedom of residence. We also share utilities, and we have a low-cost food share plan.
