I've looked for the right lot and neighborhood to create a specific lifestyle for my clients and found it at Silverado Estates in Wilford. Work is underway to build these two and a half acre lots with the kinds of improvements that lend to a rural lifestyle perfect for a family wanting to foster responsibility in their kids through a rural lifestyle or a self-sufficient setup to raise a garden, have some lifestock and live a little more independent of the supermarket. That is, unless you purchase the lot first and put those improvements in yourself. After searching through the neighborhoods in SE Idaho, I kept coming back to Silverado Estates because of the right mix of allowable features and lot amenities to build out a functional “homestead” lifestyle. The pressurized irrigation, the autonomy of drilling and operating your own well, the paved access but right amount of land to have pastures, garden, and lawn space. Take a look at the intended lot layouts in the picture section to see an idea of how this lot can be finished out to provide space to pasture a few animals, grow a large garden and have some nice rural amenities. There are some partial layout designs you can look at. See the pictures for home builds available. Prices include well. septic, fiber and irrigation.
