    What's special

A time capsule iconic home in Richfield! Quick specs: 4 bed, 2.5 bath, 3000 sqft, .45 acres, central a/c, gas furnace, 2 car garage, fully landscaped with sprinkler system. Welcome to one of Richfield’s most beloved houses. The mid century modern architecture is a rare gem. Everyone admires the huge windows, solid wood doors, and beautiful yard. The single level living (no stairs!) is ideal as you age, and the large gathering space is perfect for getting all the kids and grandkids together. When you come into the entry with its flagstone floor and large coat closet, you’ll be blown away by the huge living space. There were 4 couches, 2 loveseats, 3 easy chairs, a dining table, and a piano comfortably inside! The dividing benches and real wood paneling help the space to stay cozy and not get over-burdened by echoes and noise. People can play games, watch a movie, and sit and talk all together without being cramped. The living room has long windows all along the front and 2 huge picture windows on the back overlooking a covered patio with textured concrete and a beautifully landscaped backyard. The mature trees and terraced lawn make it the perfect place to have an Easter egg hunt, backyard barbecue, or family reunion. We’ve spent many summer nights sitting on the terraces like a little amphitheater, watching the cousins put on talent shows and magic shows. Inside, the kitchen and office had a $50K remodel, featuring solid maple cabinets, quartz countertops, and real walnut hardwood floors. You’ll love all the built in storage, and those amazing long windows showing off the Red Hills. The sleek black appliances are new and stay with the house: gas range, microwave, dishwasher, and fridge with filtered water. Two bedrooms are connected with a Jack-and-Jill bathroom and are roomy enough for bunk beds, two twins, or even a queen for guest bedrooms. The first has a long built-in desk/dresser combo running under the long windows. Both bedrooms have big closets and lots of natural light. The 4th bedroom is surrounded by windows and could be used as a solarium, art studio, playroom, or hot tub room. It’s my favorite place during one of Richfield’s famous thunderstorms. Laying on the bed, watching the lightning all around and listening to the rain on the metal roof is one of my favorite memories. A large build-on more than doubled the size of the primary bedroom. It’s two rooms, with one being an ideal work-from-home office, nursery, or treatment room for your home based massage or reflexology business. The primary bathroom has its original pink fixtures and tile! Everybody comments on the pink toilet! There are his and hers walk-in closets, high ceilings, and a bay window that can house a California king size bed. Large solid wood framed French doors separate the two rooms of the primary suite. Oh, and I almost forgot to mention that it has its own water heater, so you’ll never be surprised by a blast of cold water in the shower! There are 2 sheds connected in the backyard, and the planting beds around the house have been amended yearly with compost and manure, so they grow tons of delicious fruits and veggies. A new cedar fence was installed in the fall of 2022. The exterior is all brick. The garage is extra deep and has a whole wall of built-in storage. There is central a/c, water softener, central vacuum system and new double-pane windows. The roof was replaced in 2021. This place was lovingly maintained by a remarkable older couple. We’re heartbroken to let it go, but can’t wait for a new family to make their own memories. It’s a very happy home.
