This is one of the most comfortable apartments I've ever lived in, but my girlfriend got a new job after we signed our lease renewal, and we need to move to Des Moines, so she can be closer to work. The rent for this apartment is $910 a month. But we are offering to pay enough of the year's rent, so the rent would be reduced to $850 for 12 months (August 1, 2019 - July 31, 2020). About the apartment: This is a south-facing (read: direct sunlight even in the winter!) 2 bedroom, 1 bath apartment with a large living room and a den (or storage closet), as well as, a small room for the washer and dryer. Additionally, both of the bedrooms have south-facing windows while the living room has three large south-facing windows. I cannot reiterate enough how wonderful the south-facing windows were to have this winter when everywhere else was freezing, but I sat on the couch in warm sunlight. Plus, we saved on heating costs. It s way better to have the option of sun, and in the summer, you just pull the blinds down and you re all set. I am a graduate student and do not have a car, but everything I need is within walking distance: - The Cafe (one of Ames' best restaurants) and Wallaby's (a great rooftop sports bar) and other restaurants are no more than a 3-minute walk. - The bus stop is 3-minutes away and can take you to Iowa State, North Grand Mall and Walmart all in about 10-minutes. - Biking to school is 7-minutes and walking is 20-25. - There are numerous parks nearby (Moore Memorial and Ada Hayden) - Fareway grocery store is a 15-minute walk (2 by bus) Other perks: - The management company (Hometown Management) has been wonderful, and they've fixed any repair issue immediately. - Free gym membership to Ames Racquet & Fitness Club (normally, $59 a person), and it's in the same parking lot as the building - Free access to an outdoor pool in the summer - Free Internet (but you need to rent a modem from MediaCom) - Free off-street parking - One cat is allowed I'm happy to show the place any day on the weekend or any night except Wednesday. I'm, also, happy to answer any questions over the phone if you're coming from out of state. Just so you know, you will need to provide a one-month security deposit and fill out a rental application, which will need to be approved by Hometown Management. At the end of the lease, you would have the option to renew. Contact me by email with your name, phone number, and briefly explain your interest. Thanks! New tenant would take over our lease (at reduced rent!) and have the option of renewal at the end of 12 months.
