We are run by students for students, and offer affordable housing with September-May lease terms. All rooms have built in storage and study space, include furniture, and have an attached bathroom shared by one other room. Different floors offer options for quieter or more social environments, and some allow pets while most remain pet free. All rooms include access to all common areas. Taos houses 117 members ranging from freshmen to grad students with many members hailing from international universities. At Taos, you will have the opportunity to meet friends and learn about different cultures from around the world. In addition to Taos's diverse membership, the building itself offers opportunities for diverse activities. Like other College Houses co-ops, Taos offers its members meals cooked in its member-run kitchen. Members contribute a few hours each week to cook, clean, run meetings, and other tasks to keep things running smoothly. For most students, this saves lots of time compared to the routine work of grocery shopping, cooking, and cleaning an apartment. Being a member also means that you get to vote at house meetings and decide house rules. Taos members also enjoy many educational and leisure time activities including intramural sports, camping, game nights, and cook-offs. Taos boasts views of the UT Tower and the Capitol dome from its sundeck overlooking Guadalupe Street. Taos is equipped with a computer lab, a workout room, a game room with a pool table and arcade games, and a TV room.
