As you come up the walkway, you you'll see beautiful Poinciana trees which are much older than the house! While the house is on the market, we are continuing to make improvements. The entire house has been freshly painted. The hardwood floors in the living room, stairs, upstairs hallway and bedrooms are all the original. The sun porch floor and the dining room are Perego and the small bedroom on the first floor is wood-looking vinyl. The kitchen was completely updated in 2003 from the floor up and PVC pipes were run. The bathroom plumbing also was updated with new pipes at that same time. There are 4 A/C window units and 3 fans. We have not had any electrical problems at all, but at some point, the home may need to be rewired. There are some interesting artifacts that are reminiscent of the 20’s era. For instance, the door plates with the skeleton keyhole are original, as is the dining room chandelier and corner cabinet, the mail slot by the front door, a gas pipe behind one of the French Doors, the milk bottle holder at the back entrance, a built-in shoe rack at the top of the closet, rather than on the floor. The wood screen door at the front entrance has been around a long time. The French Doors are also original; they each measure 18” wide and are no longer a stock item. The upstairs bathroom has the black and white tile popular during that era. The pocket door at the back entrance was recently replaced, but has been saved in the garage for future restoration. And around the house, you’ll see a few other old items – an old phone, a milking stool, etc. Neighborhood Description The neighborhood is close to downtown, only a block from the local hospital, near the Edison Home and 1/2 mile from the Red Sox Training Camp. The neighbors are friendly and it's a reasonably quiet neighborhood. There is also an Episcopal Church closeby.
