Our kids (12 & 15) have made a pact to bring their own families here together someday! We love the privacy and the comfortable atmosphere. It is close enough to Durango, Purgatory, and Silverton for day trips. We spent several days hiking and exploring the area around the cabin. It is nice to have access to satellite television, but we choose to ban it - so the kids can experience nature (With the exception of the NBA finals of course :-) The owner is very responsive to inquiries before, during, and after your stay. We definitely recommend the cabin for a fun family getaway!Plenty of Privacy October 2012 -I would highly recommend this cabin for some great pictures of the fall leaves looking out across the nearby lake. The property is in great condition and while, not far off the road, you certainly do not have to worry about being bothered by noisy neighbors! Please do be aware, however, that Verizon cell coverage does not reach the cabin (my family and I "survived" by making nightly treks into Durango for coffee/hot chocolate to get access to their email, etc). If you are looking for a location to get away from it all, then I would definitely put this property on the list.Best Family Vacation! July 2010 -This was one of our best family vacations we've ever taken. Our kids (9yr & 6yr) had a wonderful time. We fished, hiked, and explored all around the property. Dirk is a gracious owner - We had many questions and he answered them quickly, providing us with as much information to make the most of our 5 night stay. Durango is close and we took several day trips to the town for river rafting and horseback riding. The cabin's deck and fire pit was a hit. We spent most of our days and nights lounging outside, grilling, puting our feet up. This was perfect for what we were looking for.Quiet Getaway July 2010 -If you are looking for some seclusion withou
