The home is set up, so you will have your own apartment most of the time. My job has me traveling about three weeks out of the month, so even the common areas of the kitchen and bathroom will be yours to enjoy privately for most of your stay. The half of the house I stay in will be closed off, ensuring that even if we both are on the premises, we will be guaranteed our privacy. This two-story, brightly colored house is what they call a New Orleans Manor. Unlike the traditional shotgun-style houses in the city, this uniquely beautiful home has amazing natural lighting and great airflow. Its 1930's architecture is full of stylish archways made of cypress and rod iron accents. The first story of the house is a large 2500 sft open space that is great for storage. The second story is a fully furnished living space that is as peaceful and quiet as it is cozy. The bedroom you will be staying in has a comfortable memory foam queen mattress and a TV with an Amazon Firestick, which gives you access to Netflix, Hulu, HBO, ect. The cedar closet in your room is a great place for clothing storage, along with a small dresser. The whole property has high-speed WIFI, and you will have an office area with two monitors set up so you can plug your laptop right in. The "plant room" off of your bedroom is my favorite room in the house. A wall of east-facing windows pours gorgeous morning sunlight into the room, making it an excellent place for reading, morning yoga, meditation, or just relaxation. The porcelain tiled kitchen has a refurbished 1930s gas stove, similar to the one that would have been in the house when it was originally built. The full-size fridge is about five years old with tons of space. You will have all the kitchen amenities you need to prepare and cook meals in this very spacious kitchen. The pots and pans are nonstick, so please refrain from using metal on them. The large 3-lot property full of gardens is nestled behind a 7-foot privacy fence. My friends have nicknamed my home the "compound" because it feels like you are walking into a different world as soon as you enter the property. Depending on the season, you can enjoy fresh fruit (bananas, papayas, lemons, limes, satsumas, kumquats) right off the tree. The property is quite the oasis in the middle of a fun and lively city.
