The cabin was built using log construction and is heated by wood stove. This cabin is completely off the electrical grid with solar power, and a gasoline generator for backup. It has a deep-well that is 80 feet underground and 20 feet below water level. It also has a 500-gallon septic tank. The deck and wood fence were recently rebuilt with weather-resistant materials ($5,000 in materials), the solar power electronics are all new as of 2023 ($10,000 in new hardware), and the flooring is all new LVT as of 2021 ($2,000 in materials). The cabin will be sold fully furnished as a turn-key weekend retreat and is a better investment than paper money due to inflation. If you enjoy trout fishing, the Rio de la Vacas is a 10-minute walk from the house and is rated one of the best fly-fishing streams in New Mexico. This cabin has two beds and two futons, sleeping 8 comfortably. It’s rustic but has all modern conveniences.
