History of Princesa Circle This is the history I was told by one of the original owners (Jack Gross, hollywood script writer) of the town homes. The unit that I have was designed and built for the man that developed the housing that surrounds what was the Murrieta Hot Springs Resort. I was told that he was Doris Day's brother in law and that Doris Day used to come to stay in the unit when she came to the Hot Springs. I was also told that Rock Hudson and Carey Grant also stayed at the house when they were visiting the Hot Spring. I was also told that later, Doris Day had her mother living in the unit for awhile. The area is very interesting and has a lot of history. There is nothing in public record that ties the Melchers and Doris Day to the development, which was used as a money laundering site for the teamsters and the mob. Jimmy Hoffa was visiting the spa right before he disappeared. It would be interesting to see the title to see who built the house. I know that the Gross family build the unit next to mine and they were very good friends with the developer and built their unit so that they could socialize with their friends by living next door. The Gross's were the ones that told me about the history of my unit. I don't know if they were renting or actually owned the house. But she apparently spent time there.
