Third-floor apartment for rent in an old fashioned walk-up from 1878. The house is in downtown Jersey City, around the block from Hamilton Park. The apartment has two bedrooms and one bath, a living room, and dining room. The floors are mostly parquet hardwood. There are flowering trees in the yard in the Spring. The front of the house faces south, and gets a lot of sun. The apartment comes with a dishwasher, stove, refrigerator, and two air conditioners. Heat is via natural-gas powered hydronic baseboard heaters. The boiler is in the basement. Water pressure is always good because it's gravity-fed from the water reservoir in Boonton, which is at a higher elevation than our house. The building is around the corner from Hamilton Park, and within walking distance of the PATH, the Newport Mall, several supermarkets, and some reasonably priced, little cafes. There is a public library nearby, and historic houses of worship (the bells sounding on weekends are beautiful to hear). A laundromat is on the corner, about 25 feet away from the house. There are also CitiBike rental stations nearby. The Holland Tunnel and NJ Turnpike Extension are only a few blocks away. There are inexpensive street parking permits available from the city. Security deposit is one and a half months of rent. Hot water is included; you pay for your own heat and electricity. Please press the booking button or send an e-mail to make an appointment to view the apartment! Likely viewings will be in groups on Saturday afternoons. (The apartment is currently occupied, so we must be respectful of the current tenants by not scheduling viewings at just any time.) Rented by the owner (my apartment is on the first floor), so no broker's fee. If the tour-booking button is missing, we're looking to give tours on Saturdays at 1 pm. (Times and days are limited to avoid inconveniencing the current tenants too much.) Just write to let me know you will be there. No video during tours out of respect for the tenants' privacy. Lease is for one year. Hot and cold water included in rent.
This property is off market, which means it's not currently listed for sale or rent on Zillow. This may be different from what's available on other websites or public sources.
