The first owners were German immigrants, Leonard and Anna Bauer who arrived to Cincinnati in 1854. Leonard, one of Cincinnati's oldest citizens and prominent member of the neighborhood began working as a pork butcher. He and Anna Baurer married in had two sons during their 46 year marriage, Leonard Jr. and Charles. Leonard Bauer died in July of 1911. This property was passed down to Leonard Bauer Jr and Charles. Leonard Jr also worked in the meat industry and married Amelia Schroth, daughter of John Schroth co-owner of J&F Schroth Packing Co. once located behind the two properties before being torn down to make way for I-75. Leonard Jr. passed away in 1927 leaving the properties of Amelia who owned 2880 and 2878 Sidney Ave. until 1941. On August 21, 1952, Eleanor Liberman with her son, William Liberman purchased 2880 Sidney from Arthur and Florence Schille. Eleanor, lived in the home with her three children. George Buescher married one of the daughters, Catherine in 1956 while in their early 20's. George and Catherine purchased the home from her mother and lived here (with a hiatus for a few years) for 64 years. George served in the military and was a house painter/renovator for many years. One of his favorite stories to tell was that of the escape of Freedom the Cow which occurred across the street. George and Kate were kind people who loved the neighborhood, we hope you will too. Owner pays water and gas. Tenant pay electric and WiFi. This is a non-smoking apartment with quiet neighbors. Respect for neighbors is a must. One off-street parking space is available and included in the lease, plenty of street parking.
