From the Owner:On offer is an apartment located in a two unit (upstairs and downstairs) building built in 1890 in the historic Benton Park district of St. Louis. Benton Park itself is a block away. Unit advertised is the first floor. The upstairs apartment will only be occupied about two or three days a month by family members. Apartment is available for rent at present time. I would like a lease for a period of approximately eight months but can be somewhat flexible with the termination date.My situation is that my wife and I normally live in the upstairs apartment and have been renting the downstairs on a short term basis as a bed and breakfast operation. The downstairs apartment is fully furnished, decorated and equipped for this purpose. We are now going to be abroad for a period of about eight months and upon returning will need to have the downstairs available for visiting friends and family and to then resume renting the place on short term basis.The place was recently restored and renovated starting with a complete gutting. The wooden doors were all restored to their original condition and stained dark. The floor base trim, window and door trim and crown molding is all of wide wood, stained dark and recently installed. Flooring is new and ceiling is about ten feet high. Bits of original red brick was exposed in various parts of the apartment for aesthetic purposes. Appliances are six months to a year old and particularly nice including refrigerator, dishwasher, washer and dryer. Apartment is well furnished and decorated.We have been using the services of a lady who cleans our apartment as well as the downstairs after the departure of clients. I would like her to visit apartment once a month and clean the place. She can be flexible with the times of her visits. The cost of paying for this service would be on me. This way I will be reassured periodically of the well being of the place. The cost of water and sewage is included in rental price. No gas is needed in that all appliances and heat are electric. Electricity will be tenant's responsibility.
