One of the rarest gems in the Sierras, this Forest Service cabin is far away from other cabins and is on the water. Part of the Sciots tract, but also known as Cody tract, this cabin can use the clubhouse, play ground and water system, but gets much more privacy than any other cabin I've seen. One bedroom downstairs with more sleeping areas upstairs, or sleep on the deck under the stars. Lots of trails and Forest access right out the door. Hike, bike, or drive all the way to Kirkwood area, Echo Summit, or Pollock pines without getting on the highway.
