Scottsville is a quiet and friendly village. All the village streets have sidewalks and many neighbors walk with and without pets all year. Main Street has a variety of businesses as well as a diner, where you can see your naighbors and catch up most anytime. Scottsville seems very out of the way, yet it's only 15 minutes to downtown Rochester, 10 minutes to RIT, University of Rochester, and Henrietta, a bustling suburb of the city. The Genesee Valley Trail runs through Scottsville. This trail invites walkers, hikers, and bicyclists from all over. Also in Scottsville is the Oatka Creek, which is great for fishing, canoeing, or cooling off on hot summer days. It's such a lovely place that I have a home in the village myself.
