    This comfortable dome home was built in 1996, on 4 wooded lots in the small town community of Irondale, near Port Townsend, Wa. It is a 12-sided structure, with an open living, dining, and kitchen floor plan, plus 2 bedrooms and one bath on the first floor, and one huge open room on the second floor. This can be used for a bedroom, office, sewing room, etc, or divided off into four or five bedrooms plus common area. The first level walls sit on a perimeter foundation, and are 10' wide on every other side, and 8' on the remaining sides. This gives an over-all diameter of 34", measured edge-to edge. The second floor is made of joists and beams, resting on the outer walls and six key points, supported on inside concrete footings. All but one of these inside supports are hidden in the interior walls dividing rooms, and the one is a beautiful wooden post made of local fir, which is positioned near the front entry, setting off the living room. There are five dormers with windows, built into the second rung triangular openings, and two skylights in the top. The roofing is red sheet metal.
