The home has two plus bedrooms and one bath with a tub and shower, an attached garage, galley kitchen, and an over-sized living room. There are big windows in the front room and back bedroom, a nearly unused gas stove in the front room/living room with gas hookup, washer and dryer hookups off the kitchen, and a small water heater. The master bedroom is just off the kitchen. It has two decent sized windows and a full-length closet. All fixtures have recently been replaced. New tile flooring has been installed in the bathroom, back bedroom, and front room. There are custom-made fine wood cabinets in the galley kitchen, a double sink and laminate counter top. The roof is in relatively good shape. There is a small crawl-space attic with access from the master bedroom. There is a huge over-sized front yard with grass, a couple of trees and bushes, and a cement walkway from the porch to the street. There are at least three parking spots on the property in the front and one covered spot in the garage. The square footage is a guess- the original house was only 770 square feet. That included the galley kitchen, master bedroom and bathroom. A later update added the front room and detached garage. A second update a few years later added the back bedroom and bonus room/office/third bedroom/ kitchen nook, attaching the garage to the house. The original window and back door off the kitchen is still in place and opens onto the bonus room. Since the lot is 6600 square feet, I estimated the house was at least one-sixth that size after the two add-on's, but may be more than 1100 square feet in total. with the garage. Some cosmetic fixes are still needed, but the house is solid and well taken care of inside. The best feature remains the front yard-since the house sits at the very back of the lot right next to the alley, there's lots of potential room to grow in the front, or to build a separate structure-a rental property, perhaps? Or, add an A-frame like the neighbors directly across the street (their original home was roughly the same size as this one before the A-frame roof addition in the late seventies/early eighties). This house has been a three-generations family home since 1966, first my grand mothers, then my dads, and now me. Interior pictures will be coming shortly.
