    Our South of Grand home has been a labor of love to completely restore this historic Prairie design home back to it's original beauty. The home is listed in several Prairie home books which we will pass on to the next owner. Our home has the warmth of history while having modern, clean lines and timeless architecture. The cost of re-creating the original hardwood in our home would cost a fortune today. Every original piece has been striped of paint and re-stained back to it's original tones. There is 100% original oak hardwood flooring throughout the entire first and second floors. The floor plan has a large living room, large sunroom, custom built Prairie Design Shaker kitchen with granite countertops, 1/2 bath, and large dining room which can seat 10-12 plus long enough to play table tennis on your dining room table. There are several built in cabinets and window seats, two sets of french doors in the front of the house, along with the staircase lined with original built in bookcases and coat closet. The second floor has 4 bedrooms: 3 large bedrooms and one normal sized bedroom/office, and a full bath. Each room has several large, sunny windows. The basement is unfinished but plumbed for a bathroom if you choose to finish it. The old original foundation walls have been removed and replaced with cement blocks. Basement is entirely water proofed by American Perfection and has a sump pump with battery backup. The entire house was rewired and a 200 amp service panel installed. All the galvanized plumbing was replaced with copper. Entire house (walls and ceiling) was insulated after the lath and plaster was removed. Sheetrock has a smooth finish which kept the house with the same look as it had when built in 1912. The original boiler heating system has been replaced with gas forced air, heat ducts and central AC. Our front porch, steps and most sidewalks have been replaced. With all of the updates this home is truly energy efficient. The exterior french doors were custom made to duplicate the original 1912 doors. Our two car tandem garage easily accommodates both of our cars. Garage door is insulated and has two remote openers. Our backyard will be great for a dog or young kids. It is fenced in on two sides and with two short fence panels it will be completely enclosed. There is a rear entrance to the backyard. All 4 corners of the house has electrical outlets and water valves. The 3 balconies have electrical outlets that can be used for seasonal decorating.
