Home was extensively remodeled in 2013. It was completely replumbed using Uponor Pex A tubing (https://www.uponor-usa.com/residential-solutions), the best plumbing system, period. All attic insulation was vacuumed out and the entire drywall ceiling pulled down during the remodel. All the old ductwork was removed and replaced with new ductwork including new runs and returns. The pex plumbing was run through the attic and down into the walls to the various fixtures at this time. All new drywall ceiling was installed and textured, and all new insulation blown into the attic. Both master and guest bath were completely gutted to the studs. All new fixtures and cabinetry were installed, new tub with custom tile surround in the guest bath and a large, step down walk in shower with built in seat and 1/2" glass surround and pivoting door in the master, where a huge cultured marble tub was removed to make room for the stacked washer and dryer, which is the most convenient location for them. So, if you have to have a huge garden soaking tub to spend hours in, this house is not for you. Top of the line materials and techniques were used in both baths. The guest tub walls had Hardibacker concrete board installed over Dow styrofoam insulation, followed by two coats of Custom Building Products Red Gard crack and waterproofing membrane followed by Crossville porcelain tile in a soapstone look. This method is serious overkill, but assures that this tub and surround will last for scores of years. The master bath's two shower walls were constructed with Hardibacker over the studs, followed by two coats of Red Gard, followed by Schluter Kerdi waterproofing membrane beneath the same Italian tile throughout the whole house (other than the guest batch). The shower floor, about two inches below floor level, is Schluter's Kerdi foam shower tray followed by Kerdi membrane under the 2x2 unglazed ceramic tiles. Again, overkill, and a shower floor that will never decay like most eventually do.
