Most Historical House in Union City, tops the list of the Historical Overlay Zone. Prairie School Architecture designed by noted California Architect Henry Haight Meyer who built more than 200 buildings including many famous SF Bay Area landmarks. Premium wood craftsmanship throughout, the interior of the main house is preserved in its original condition and is considered the most well preserved turn-of-the-century home in the area. Built for August May Jr. (President of the Alameda First Bank) and his wife Jenny May (Jenny Decoto of the pioneer Decoto family). Construction began in December 1913 and was completed in May 1914. One of the first houses in the East Bay to be upgraded to GE Electricity, push bottom light switches throughout the house bare the original GE logos. Custom electrical panel still runs the house.
