In a town of less than a thousand people, many of whom leave in the winter, the town is the neighborhood. Saugatuck is a naturally sheltered harbor on Lake Michigan. The Kalamazoo river provides moorage for hundreds of yachts and sailboats. We have no commercial development of our harbor making Saugatuck a very popular tourist destination. We have many art galleries, Ox Bow summer school of painting and one of the five best beaches in the United States, with stunning sand dunes and natural areas open to the public.
