This historic Republic of Texas Homestead first began in 1836, by Ann Cavitt, and is currently referred to as the "Old Cavitt House". This "Texanna" style home is located in the quiet, serene community of Wheelock Texas, Robertson County, just a short drive from Bryan-College Station and Texas A&M University. Before beginning construction on the house, the Cavitt family first built a small, rugged cabin which still stands on the property today. The home hosted many prominent visitors during it's operation as a stagecoach inn, including Sam Houston, a longtime friend of the Cavitts. The home received it's Historical Landmark Designation in 1964. Renter responsible for trash service, electric service, and water service. Septic systems - no paper products allowed in systems. Renter must maintain existing flower gardens & grounds. 1st & last month rent up front. Single family dwelling only & 2 vehicle maximum parking in designated area. Some inside pets & outside pets allowed. May not be used for shops/yard business. No loud parties or excessive guests.
