One of Grindstone Neck's original cottages, Harbor Hill was designed by Wilson Eyre, a prominent Philadelphia architect, and built in 1890; to this day it remains an iconic example of the classic shingle cottages designed for this incredible community. Initially described as a 'small but elegant summer community', Grindstone Neck is located on a small peninsula of land near to The Schoodic and Winter Harbor section of Acadia National Park. The Grindstone Neck association offers a golf course, yacht club, swim club and tennis courts, and woodland paths along the scenic oceanfront overlooking Frenchman Bay and the mountains of Mount Desert. Located on 2.7 acres, framed by stately trees, shrubs and manicured lawns, Harbor Hill is located just a few minutes from the seaside village of Winter Harbor, where one finds a delightful mixture of cafes and artisan galleries. The Hancock County-Bar Harbor is only a short 30 minutes away, whereas the larger Bangor International Airport is less than 90 minutes away.
