Ledroit Park is a quiet, tree-shaded enclave of Victorian mansions, stately townhomes, and quaint rowhouses. It is a historic district with wrought iron lamp posts, brick sidewalks, and many historical landmarks, from Anna Cooper's home to Howard Theatre. There are green spaces for relaxing, playing, and running right in the neighborhood including the recently built Ledroit Park, Crispus Atticus Park, the McMillan Reservoir and Sand Filtration Loop, and the Howard University Campus. In the neighborhood is a wonderful mix of activities - and I would be happy to provide recommendations. It's a walkable neighborhood with a weekend farmers market, local independent coffee shops, yoga studio. There are a variety of wonderful restaurants and small bars close by, many with outdoor seating, including Red Hen, Boundary Stone (the best neighborhood bar in DC), Baccios, Big Bear Cafe, The Royal, Shaws Tavern, El Techo. Just a 10-minute walk away, you will find yourself in the heart of lively U street nightlife. There are wonderful options in the city for hiking, biking, and kayaking if you like outdoor activities.
