The Woldale School was built in 1907 with a second, larger community center built around 1913. The two-room public school operated until the 1960's, when it was leased by the school district to a private school. In 1974 My Mother, Dr. Dorothy Sheldon purchased the property and lovingly cared for it until she passed away last winter. The family believes Woldale will be a perfect home to an extended family wanting to live a rural lifestyle but not too far from town. An intentional community would thrive in the large spaces including a small auditorium with a curtained stage and stage lights. Many skits and plays have been performed over the past 40 years by Dorothy's many grandkids, and the fondest memories will live in those walls forever. In addition to the two grand and stately buildings, the property has numerous small storages and a newer steel barn Dorothy built for her beloved chickens and goats. Since she moved onto the property not a drop of pesticide has been used on the place as she lived 100% organic. Even her chickens were fed organically. There are three wells on the property, one of which Dorothy considered the best water on the planet and would drink nothing else, even when hospitalized in her last days. Water rights are very dear in the Kittitas Valley so these three permitted wells have substantial value. Woldale has been the landmark for a century and Dorothy was her proud caretaker, but she's now ready for a new chapter. Dorothy's family is seeking the right family or community to enliven those rooms and once again bring joy to these rooms and land. Neighborhood Description Rural Kittitas Valley
