From bald eagles to goldfinches, ducks of all kinds & woodpeckers too, it's a bird watcher's paradise. And the fishing isn't bad either. Though there's a public boat launch for fisherman, there's not a lot of boat or jet-ski noise on this lake like on some of the larger lakes. Being about 32 acres and a mile or so around, Whitman Lake is small, although some ski boat equipped residents do water-ski on this lake in the summer. Like to walk or bicycle?? The lightly traveled, 25mph roads (with caution) are a great place to do that. There's not much crime in this neighborhood. Eatonville has excellent schools and the bus goes by right out front here. It's a great place for and to raise a family or to scale your life down and enjoy your retirement years. This is a nice, desirable family & recreational orientated neighborhood in a great, secluded, not widely known area of southeastern Pierce county.
