Available for 28 days or more, Herman's Hideaway is a lovingly furnished two-bedroom apartment in St. Louis' magical Tower Grove East neighborhood. Weekly housekeeping is included. There is a King-sized bed in one bedroom, and Queen-sized bed in the other bedroom. Herman's Hideaway features dedicated high-speed internet service, comfortable furnishings, and thoughtful lighting throughout. The kitchen includes all basics for meal preparation. Take a shower or soak in the 50s-era bathtub. Herman's Hideaway has a smart TV, with an antenna for local stations. We hope that you will find absolutely everything you need for your comfort while in residence. Yes, there is a hair dryer and iron. You will find the apartment's ironing board in a drop-down closet in the Queen bedroom. Herman's Hideaway is located on the third floor, and accessible only by stairs. Pets are not allowed in Herman's Hideaway. Smoking is prohibited in the apartment or anywhere on the premises. If you don't have your own renter's insurance, you must pay an additional $10.50 per month for "Tenant Liability Insurance." This insurance covers unintentional or accidental damage to the premises, but not to your personal possessions. LAUNDRY & HOUSEKEEPING We provide weekly housekeeping. We will make the bed, swap out dirty towels and linens, dust and vacuum. We do not wash dishes. For your laundry, we recommend Wash Studio in Soulard. Wash Studio will pick up and deliver your laundry, or you are welcome to use their laundromat. PARKING Parking is free and on-street on the block in front of Herman's Hideaway. You will almost always find a parking spot right in front of the building. The spaces between the "30-minute parking" signs are for your car. HISTORIC JEWEL Herman's Hideaway is in the Tower Grove East neighborhood, across the street from Compton Heights and its million-dollar mansions. From this location it is easy to walk, bike or take public transit around St. Louis. The Gateway Arch, America's Center, and Downtown St. Louis are less than four miles from here. The world-renowned Missouri Botanical Garden is a delightful 25-minute walk through some of the city's finest historic neighborhoods. Walk to St. Louis University Medical Center. The main campus of St. Louis University is two miles north. Washington University's main campus is about seven miles from here. Barnes Hospital & Washington University Medical Center are about four miles away. Walk to numerous restaurants, coffee houses, shopping and magnificent historic parks. IS IT SAFE? Since all of SF Shannon's vacation rental apartments are in the historic core of St. Louis, we occasionally receive the question: "Is it safe?" This question is impossible to answer, because we typically know nothing about the person asking it. Co-owner Rachel lives a few blocks from Herman's Hideaway. She and her her husband raised their daughters in this neighborhood, and have always felt perfectly safe. WHY THAT NAME? Hermans Hideaway is named after Herman Ullrich, who built the building with his brother, and owned a bakery on the first floor.
