our area of astoria is a wonderful mix of greeks, italians, "hipsters", brazilians, japanese, chinese, and just about everyone else in the world is represented. It is a gift to be mixed into the multi-culture atmosphere. Astoria is a small town atmosphere that is very close to manhattan by car and subway. Our neighborhood is quiet. You can very clearly hear the multitude of birds in the backyards and gardens. We have the peace of country-like living next to Manhattan. The subway trains r,v,g are less than a block away and the "N" and "7" lines are close as well. Our backyard is a joy. We have a porch and barbeque area and a large garden. We have a large front porch and a garden in front also. The sun hits the back porch in the a.m. and front porch in the p.m. It's a great home for having a great life in the city with room to live indoors and outdoors. The garage can eaisly be converted into more living area. Astoria is a hidden gem in the New York metropolitan area.
