FANTASTIC little home in arguably the best old neighborhood in Lincoln. Owned for three years, minimal problems, and lots of updates. 2br, 1.75 bath and lots of storage space for a house this size. This house is almost 90 years old and is FULL of character because of it. Upset I'm having to leave this beaut behind. Kitchen, master bath, and lawn all completely redone. In the kitchen, we removed the linoleum to uncover the original 90 year old oak floors. Countertops, cupboards, appliances and sink all replaced and rearranged to make for a highly functional and highly appealing cooking space. This is now a gourmet kitchen. I also finished the floor of the sun room/mud room adjacent to the kitchen, which is a fantastic seasonal room for breakfast and relaxation. This room overlooks the fenced in backyard which makes it great for dog owners. Both the bathrooms upstairs were completely redone as well. The full bath required repainting and new fixtures. Kept the classic old tub in place and converted it into a shower as well. The master bath was gutted and redone. New, chic bowl sink, granite counter, cupboard to match the kitchen, shelving and tile on the floors and above the shower were all added. In the master bedroom the closet was also restructured to maximize the space and additional storage was added behind the bedroom door. The rest of the house is spacious and chalked full of character. The dining room features covered beams and the archway leads to the living room next door. All the windows in the house are original counterweight, divided windows that are just too classic to replace. Storm windows help keep these old windows energy efficient. When I purchased the place the lawn was a complete do-over. So, I ripped everything out, placed landscape bordering, installed an underground sprinkler system, and laid sod and mulch just last summer. The new lawn has held up great and is quit enjoyable in the afternoon shade under the numerous giant oak trees in the yard. My biggest regret is not stringing a hammock between two of them. The basement of the house is unfinished but provides ample extra storage and houses the washer/dryer, an extra refrigerator/freezer, and the rest of the mechanics. Since I moved in, the AC and heating system have been replaced and the washer has been fixed and updated for an extended expected livelihood. There is a detached garage with room for one car/small SUV and some additional storage. Driveway can fit two additional cars if needed.
