1923 Dutch Colonial on the Parkway, one block away from Minnehaha Creek and trails, six or seven blocks to Lake Nokomis on one side, and Minnehaha Falls on the other. A city home next to parks and trails. Quiet and friendly neighborhood. Neighborhood Description This used to be a working class neighborhood way back when that has become increasingly in demand in Minneapolis. There is a wide variety of architectural styles, dating back to probably the late 1800's (a few farmhouses here and there), cabins from that time too, and then a lot of 1920's houses (specially on Minnehaha Parkway) and some later 1940's post WWII homes. Its all here. People have really been fixing up their homes these last years, and while there were mostly older people around me when I moved in here (1992), there are younger couples moving in, and there is a wide variety of people. I walk my dog around the neighborhood several times a day and I really feel at home here. I believe crime is low here relatively to other areas (don't have stats but you can get them) and neighbors help each other in watching out and staying connected.
