    Situated on Howard Street, at the main entrance of the significant Union Cemetery, some historians believe this building once served as a law office for Andrew Gregg Curtin, and that it may have been moved from the Crider Exchange Block on North Allegheny Street to its current location. An alternative history states that it was in 1859, indeed the gatehouse to the cemetery, and home of the cemetery’s Superintendent. Whichever is true does not take away from the completely unique appearance of the property itself, serving as the gate to the Howard Street entrance to the cemetery. The front gables with their downward pointing decorations are of the Folk Victorian style. Year established 1859, according to the Bellefonte Historical and Cultural Association. The roof was new within the last five years and the outside was recently painted. Inside, there is a 13 x 15 Kitchen with range, refrigerator, ceiling fan, and beautiful hardwood floor, for its age, a full bath, a dining room and living room on the first floor. On the second floor is a second full bath, laundry room, and two bedrooms bridging across the drive to the other side of the house, where a spiral staircase descends to the first floor, on that side of the house, containing a fourth bedroom and a third full bath. There is an abundance of closet space including a walk-in cedar closet. The concrete floored basement contains a storage room and a utility room encompassing a natural gas furnace and a 2011 water heater. Outside there is a 23 x 10 wood storage building with concrete flooring and shelving, and a brick patio with water feature and koi pond. The property has been acknowledged by historic preservation groups for its architectural and historic significance. This property knows no equal. This is your chance to own a piece of history.
