An alternative history states that it was in 1859, indeed the gatehouse to the cemetery, and home of the cemetery’s Superintendent. Whichever is true does not take away from the completely unique appearance of the property itself, serving as the gate to the Howard Street entrance to the cemetery. The front gables with their downward pointing decorations are of the Folk Victorian style. Year established 1859, according to the Bellefonte Historical and Cultural Association.
