    What's special

This is a beautiful Victorian home said to have originally been owned by the first mayor of Roseburg. Although the current family has opted not to list as a historical site for privacy and autonomy, new owners will have the option as well. Truly impressive curb appeal is the first thing you will notice. With 3 levels, multiple covered porches, steepled roof, decorative carved exterior accents, 100+ year old trees, triple city lot with several sitting and play areas and frosted glass front entry are seen with that first look. Inside there are hardwood floors throughout the main floor, which is 1472 square feet not including the laundry room. The ceilings are 9' but are actually false ceilings. The true ceilings are 4 feet higher and could be easily returned to their original impressive state. Immediately upon entry to the left are frosted glass double swinging doors that open to the living room which has a fireplace and picture windows. The windows are even the original frames with rope. The fireplace has a convenient mini door for access to stacked logs outside and has been fitted with a highly effecient insert. Off the living room is a bedroom with two single closets and 2 sets of adorable old fashioned windows. Back to the foyer and to the right is the formal dining area with a chandelier and period appropriate heavy wallpaper. From here there are 2 more bedrooms, the kitchen and a broom/furnace closet. Both bedrooms have deep closets with additional over head storage. One bedroom features picture windows. The kitchen has a dining area, a large pantry , electric double oven, garbage disposal, refrigerator, below ceiling shelving, vinyl floor and lots of storage. From the kitchen, you will find doors to the bonus/day room, bathroom and another to the kitchen porch then laundry. The laundry has a ton of storage as well. The bonus/day room is ceiling to floor windows along 2 walls, one of which is a set of French doors that exit to the back yard. It is also plumbed for a laundry room. The bathroom features an authentic antique claw tub with very deep seating, side by side sinks, vinyl floor and on demand heat. The back yard features a large grassy area, tiered landscaping, in ground sprinkler system, a steam or dry sauna made from aromatic cedar, a hot tub, the single car garage very large vehicle gate entry and tons of outdoor storage space and parking, many more 100+ year old trees, a double gate leading to the front sidewalk from the garage and three single gates. There is a pathway from the driveway area to the basement access just under the kitchen porch where a completely enclosed cement bonus room is found. Under the front porch there is a very large amount of storage space. This home is in need of updating and some repairs to return to it's former glory, perfect for the do-it-yourselfers looking to trade sweat for equity. Plans to remodel the attic into a huge master suite with sleeping area, full bath with jacuzzi tub, walk-in closet, built in general storage on every wall, skylights, exposed 100+ year old Redwood beams, seating area and access to the back yard from it's own deck were all started and abandoned due to health but the materials are all included with the home. This has been estimated to add $100,000 in equity plus the bonus of doubling the living space. Health is forcing this sale but my bad luck is your good fortune!!
