Mon Bijou - as inscribed at the entrance of this fabulous Gingerbread Gem exactly describes this property; a small, exquisitely wrought trinket. Located in the Copeland District, a planned community designed in 1871 by the Oak Bluffs Land and Wharf Company, it was built in 1871 in the style of Gothic architect, Richard Carpenter. It is a excellent example of the gingerbread homes that abound in Oak Bluffs. The pristine condition, and the renovations have paid honor to the history of the house. Charming is not an adequate enough adjective to describe the interior and exterior of this property. The gothic shaped windows and doors are part of the character of the building as are the original floors.
