~NOW AVAILABLE FOR MARCH 1-MAY 1, ONLY. 2 FULL MONTHS ONLY~ We are looking for a couple or small family for our FULLY FURNISHED AND EQUIPPED gracious home is conveniently located steps from the Brunswick Town Green & center with restaurants, shops, cafes and cinemas; a great public library and all amenities a town needs. A quick 5 min stroll to Bowdoin campus, our historic, completely modernized home is in a perfectly quiet location, surrounded by lush garden. You will feel immediately welcomed here, where happy colors, user-friendly interiors and gorgeous rugs set the tone for a relaxing at home experience. Shop your veggies at the local Farmer's Market on the town green, just a block away, or at Morning Glory, Brunswick's natural food store, and enjoy home-cooked meals in our fully equipped gourmet kitchen. The house is yours to enjoy, we just ask that you treat it as you would wish others to treat your own home. Shoes off, please. First floor: A great, social kitchen set-up with kitchen island as a gathering spot, open to the dining room. Living room is warm and cozy and has an easy to turn on and off gas Jotul stove. On 1st floor is also where you find our bright, morning sun reading room which also has a large flat-screen TV with cable (also Netflix, Amazon Prime, Hulu, Apple TV, etc. ready), as well as the first study/office: a large, airy space with a beautifully crafted and expansive desk. There is also a full bathroom on this floor. Second floor: Aside from a master bedroom suite with a private master bathroom, there is a second large and sunny bedroom, with an additional full bath in the hallway next to it. The laundry (washer/dryer) is also located on the second floor. Third floor: Here you will find a third bedroom with a twin trundle day-bed, a room I sometimes use for yoga and meditation. There is also a marvelous second study/office on the 3rd floor. Our home is located in a residential neighborhood with super friendly neighbors all around who know each other and help each other out. The residents here love the proximity to everything convenient in town, the awesomeness of the surroundings and the diversity of our neighbors, young and old. Getting around is easy: By foot is best and so convenient! Bike or drive to Harpswell, Orr and Bailey's Islands, LL Bean's in Freeport is just a 10-minute drive, and fabulous Portland with tons of cultural offerings as well as airport is 25 minutes away. Bates and Colby colleges are 30 and 45 mins away, respectively. Please note that we also rent out our barn apartment which is attached to the house but with its own private entrance, accessed from the shared garden path. As with the main house, we carefully screen our tenants, and we already have a lovely Bowdoin employee renting the barn apartment for the coming academic spring semester. We have three parking spots in driveway, and you will always have one spot, and there is ample and safe parking on the street outside the house. We are quite selective when it comes to who we rent out our home to, so send us a detailed email inquiry telling us a little about yourself and what brings you to the area. If it seems like a good fit, we like to either plan a Zoom or FaceTime meeting, or an actual visit, if possible. We will use a written contract so that both parties can feel secure in the rental agreement, which will include a security deposit refundable within 1 month after departure, pending that all is in order. Upon signing the lease, tenant will be expected to pay the security deposit and the first month's rent. All bedding, sheets and towels provided for an easy stay. Excellent wifi and expanded cable TV is included, as well as snow removal, water and sewage. Tenant pays for gas and electricity. Re. regular cleanings: We ask that our renters continue using our cleaning woman who comes every other week and is paid $75 in cash. She knows the house well, and does a good, general cleaning.
