    What's special

Own a piece of pre-Revolutionary history! Richly ornamental Greek Revival built in 1763. It was built in 1763 by a man named Charles Hulse who spent royally on his home arranging the main hall in the second floor with great medallions of deeply moulded acanthus leaves, epitome of the art and luxury of ancient Corinth. In the center of each ceiling there are borders and moulded grapvines seemingly lacking only the color to make them real. Charles had triplet daughters, through Frances, his youngest daughter, who married James Hutton , they had a son Fanklyn who married Edna Woolworth, daughter of the merchandising genius. Hulse place became the ancestral home of Barbara Hutton, heiress to the Woolworth Fortune, and who in 1942 married Carry Grant. History is something that at times can repeat itself, but not in this case, this house was here before this land it sits on became a country, wow if these walls could talk. Kitchen is redone but still retains the old farmhouse look, new wiring, plumbing, heating, insulation, exterior siding (hardy plank) and central air. Although this house was built in 1763, we had the vision that with time we could bring it to the 21st century, and we succeeded. 10 minutes from major commuter train to the City, International Airport. Bethel Woods 40 min. away, Sugarloaf art community 15 min, restaurants and theatre at West point all within minutes.
