Home description: We’re due with our second in a few months and are interested in selling our apartment in the Clinton Hill Co-ops without a broker (the same way we bought it seven years ago). Our converted two-bedroom is a corner apartment with a large master bedroom that can fit a small office area or exercise machine, a smaller bedroom with two big windows and a sliding pocket door, a lovely kitchen that includes a brand-new range and refrigerator and quite new dishwasher and which connects to the spacious, bright living room through a marble-top bar built by the previous owner’s carpenter father (a bar our 5-year-old does art and baking on all day every day) that has plentiful storage and a wine fridge beneath it, and a stylishly-tiled bathroom with Duravit sink. If you prefer an open office or breakfast nook to an offspring, the walls to the junior second bedroom can easily be taken down for a huge, open floorplan. The Clinton Hill Coops have recently undergone window and elevator replacement and laundry facility upgrades – without an assessment or additional cost to shareholders. The cooperative also offers resident maintenance staff, 24-hour security, package delivery rooms, bike storage, on-campus storage, and common courtyards. This pet-friendly complex is one of the few in New York City to co-generate electrical power, an environmentally-friendly innovation that also results in lower costs for shareholders. This neighborhood and location has been a dream for us – there is a playground on either side of our block, the farmer’s market at Fort Greene Park a 10-minute walk away on Saturdays, and the G train literally outside our front door with the C a few blocks south. We are zoned for P.S. 20, which is just a walk away for non-pandemic times, and there are tasty and hip restaurants and cafes surrounding us in each direction – not to mention BAM, a cultural giant we have felt so lucky to patronize countless times, and the Pratt Sculpture Gardens, which were practically our second home when our kid was younger. Being able to walk to all of these in minutes is honestly such a pleasure.
