    What's special

Country Home on 40 Acres in Michigan ***more pics and description coming soon!* Location!  This property sits less than a half hour from Lake Michigan, about a half hour from Kalamazoo and Grand Rapids, and about 10 minutes from Gun Lake and the Gun Lake Casino. Allegan County allows ORVs on roadways with ORV tags!  1000's of acres of public hunting and recreation property sit adjacent to this property.  There are approx. 2.5 miles of walking/ATV trails on the 40 acres! What we love about our home!  Privacy, nature, and a welcoming community are in no shortage at our woodland retreat. Waking up to the deer herd feeding just feet from our doorstep, watching hawks soar above, the squirrels playing in the trees and Eastern Box Turtles meandering across the trails are common sights here. Our neighbors have welcomed us with open arms into this community, as first-time rural homeowners we were at first scared of taking the steps towards this adventure, but we quickly found ourselves in love with this place.   Our home was custom-built by conservationists and features some of the finest woodwork we've ever seen. The floors, doors, railings, and pillars in the large gathering room were all carefully extracted and milled into respective pieces of our home to honor the land that provided the material. Windows from all angles and elevations allow unparalleled viewing of the surrounding property and a distraction from televisions and cellphones. The heated floors in the kitchen and living room allow for pleasant temperatures even on the coldest of days and a hearty fire in the wood stove allows a place to unwind and relax. The house has a character befitting of a woodland retreat while maintaining the prominence of an executive home with modern amenities.   Our children have loved growing up here for the last two years learning how to track turkeys, raccoons, deer, and coyotes. We spend time as a family throughout the spring and summer months catching minnows (including rainbow trout) in the 3 streams on the property and playing in the cool spring-fed waters. In the evenings we fire up the Polaris RZR to get some riding in on over 20 miles of nearby seasonal roads that begin just a ½ mile from the house. A favorite pastime of the kids has become watching the new fawns from a distance as they run through the rolling hills with their moms to feed on the fresh foliage.   The fall is our favorite season, where we need stray no further from the comfort of our living room to see the changing colors and gain reprieve from the warmer months from the cooler winds blowing in from Lake Michigan. We also spend a ton of time preparing for hunting season and the kids spend countless hours outside with us tracking deer movement and tending to the food plots. With fresh rains in late October comes the salmon run, offering enjoyment along the stream seeing the Kings, Coho, and Steelhead making their way to the spawning beds seated right in our forest. It's truly amazing to see 30+ inch fish making their way through our small stream by the dozens.   Winter will not disappoint, spending time on the trails snowshoeing, snowmobiling, and sledding are all favorites. The largest hill on the property offers an excellent thrill ride for the sledding enthusiast and the dogs enjoy getting in on the fun chasing us back and forth up and down the hill. Sitting with hot cocoa at the fire pit has become a normal activity that we never thought we'd find ourselves partaking in, but under the dark starlit sky it has quickly become a family favorite. 1 Gig Fiber Internet Available through AT&T allowing seamless work from home capabilities Taxes are approx.
