Glorious barn apartment in Brunswick, steps from Bowdoin campus and town green, available for spring semester 2023 (Jan 15-May 15) ABOUT THIS FABULOUS HOME: All you need to bring are your clothes and your computer! You will find everything else you need, and this easy and gracious living will make for a memorable stay in Maine. Newly constructed (2016) apartment over two levels, the home is located in the quiet barn off our main house, but with a private entrance. It is set back from the street and surrounded by lush gardens. Downstairs, the open kitchen, dining and living room is warm, inviting and practical, and the kitchen is fully equipped, including ALL cooking essentials. There's also a half bath on the first floor in addition to the full one on the second floor. Upstairs, a large & expansive bedroom under a glorious gabled ceiling with a suspended canoe light fixture, and it includes ample closet space, a desk (with wireless printer) and reading nook, as well as a full bath with washer and dryer. Beautiful colors, textiles and rugs enhance the space throughout. Towels, linen bed sheets and cozy duvet are all included. Special treats: Bathroom floors have radiant heat, and the kitchen has a Bluetooth speaker system with docking and charging stations for iPhones and iPads, etc. The speed of the wifi is excellent and reliable, and there is an internet connected TV which means you can access your Netflix & streaming subscriptions etc. (but no regular cable TV). The wifi is included in your rent. Walk to campus and downtown in minutes (literally at the end of our street) get your local produce at the farmer's market on the town green one block away, every Tue & Fri during the season (May-Nov). Movies, restaurants, post office, groceries and cafes all within short walking distance. 1hr from Colby, 30 min to Bates, 25 minutes to Portland, which has airport, Amtrak and bus. Express bus from Brunswick and Portland (every hour!) and to Boston's Logan Airport. Amtrak to Boston's North Station (3hr ride) right from Brunswick train station, a 5 min walk from the apartment. With regard to car: if we are out of the country when you rent, we can definitely talk about the availability of one of our cars. ONLY NON-SMOKERS, NO PETS or young children, PLEASE. Re. regular cleanings: We ask that our long-term renters keep our cleaning woman who knows the house, who comes once every other week and does a good, general cleaning (but no laundry) for $50 cash. Only suitable for a couple or single person. Owner pays for wifi, gas, water, snow removal. Tenant pays for electricity. You will have one off-street parking spot in our driveway.
