This furnished, two-bedroom, two-bath house is available immediately for a short-term rental of at least 2 weeks or monthly until May 1. The house is filled with treasures, trinkets, art, and oddities from around the world. Curious adventure seekers and art aficionados will delight at this special space! Large kitchen, wireless internet, cozy corners, and a double front yard (the house backs up to the alley, so there is no backyard). Located just 5-6 minutes from downtown with a driveway and plenty of street parking. There is a bus stop down the block and a coffee shop within walking distance. The house is available on a short-term basis while its owner is away on sabbatical, so enjoy a getaway of your own in the meantime! This home is best for a couple, two roommates, single travelers or professionals, or a small family with an older child who can be trusted with small, fragile objects. While children are welcome to visit, the space is definitely not child-proof and would probably be a headache for parents to manage! No pets allowed, please. There are two bedrooms, two full bathrooms, a living room, kitchen, Moroccan lounging parlor (yes, really), foyer, and some large closets... one of which has been transformed into an artsy/spiritual nook. The master bedroom features a queen bed, large closet, and set of dressers with some available drawers. There are some clothes on one side of the closet and in the lower two drawers of the dresser, but there is definitely room to unpack for a temporary stay. The washer and dryer are also located in this room behind a curtain on the closet wall. There is a connected bathroom that includes a claw-foot tub and shower. There is a door in the master bedroom that leads to the alley out back: I recommend keeping that door closed and locked for security, but in can be used in the event of an emergency to exit into the alley. The second bedroom features a full-size bed with a beautiful antique head and foot board. One wall is exposed brick, and there is a small desk which can be used as a work-from-home space. The closet has open shelving and a space to hang clothes. There are also some cubbies in one wall with additional storage space available. The kitchen includes all the essential items you'll need to cook, including pots, pans, utensils, and basics like oil, spices, etc. Feel free to use what you find! There are some staples in the pantry, but there is plenty of space for new groceries in the pantry, fridge, and freezer. The Moroccan lounging parlor is a little sitting area with floor pillows, a traditional tea set, a record player and extensive vinyl collection, and a wall of books for browsing. As you approach the house from the street, you'll walk up a winding path and pass a long fence covered in multi-colored windows and doors. Sculpture art adorns the garden, including a beautiful five-and-a-half foot wind chime that hangs from the giant Ponderosa pine tree. The chimes come with a mallet, so feel free to bang away! Depending on the season, the garden dazzles with poppies, yarrow, wildflowers, tomatoes, basil, cucumber, carrots, squash, and other vegetables. The detached garage on the property is used as an art studio and hosts a seasonal artist-in-residency program. With permission from the owner, it can also be made available for storage purposes (although it is unfinished inside and does get rather dusty and very cold in winter). Everyone on the block is friendly: the community is warm, inviting, and generous. People spend a lot of time outdoors in our neighborhood, and typically people greet each other and can be found chatting over fences and to people who walk by. All in all, you can expect a funky, fun, and relaxing retreat here. Finally, even though Denver is 420-friendly I ask that *all* smoking take place outside only. There is no smoking of any kind allowed in the house. Thank you for your understanding! You can see that some of the photos show the furniture arranged in different ways or with different pieces. I left in some older photos that show the scope of the rooms better, even though some of the details of the furniture have changed. Anyone serious about renting can schedule a tour to see the house in person or just reach out to me and I can explain which views are the most current! Owner pays all utilities including water, electric/gas, internet, and Netflix. There is no cable TV available, but there is Apple TV so you can log into your own accounts if you want to watch something other than Netflix. Parking is available on the street in front of the house or in the driveway in front -- be careful: it's very narrow! There is a truck parked at one end of the driveway, but there is still room for one additional car. The truck's owner is away for the season and will not need to move it for a few months. No pets allowed. No smoking -- of any kind -- inside the house. Rental period is flexible: minimum 2 weeks, available until May 1 (date negotiable by a small amount).
