Since the year 2000 we've replaced or updated - roof, siding, hot water heater, HVAC, all carpet to include basement, and the fireplace. When the siding was replaced we added additional insulation covering the entire exterior (garage included) and put in new insulated garage doors. Starting in 2010 Advance Contracting Inc., Round Hill Virginia, has remodeled the kitchen, installed hickory planks in kitchen, dining and living room; remodeled the guest bath (2011), master bath (2012) and added portico on the front of our home (Aug 2014). In 2021 they (ACI) removed the old wooden deck and built a 600sf Trex deck with Rainescape system, post lighting, hidden fasteners, and added a 12x15 three season room with vaulted ceiling sky lights, insect screen under Trex, EZ Vue Porch windows and doors, and a 52 inch ceiling fan with lights. Trex lattice under the deck. Door access to large storage area under deck. Gravel path from storage area to yard and new landscaping. In the spring of 2023 we encapsulated the crawl space under the den, removed and replaced all insulation in the attic with R49 and sealed all air gaps.
