South Orange is a wonderful community with a great civic and community life. This is a prime in-town neighborhood, with great neighbors, and larger, lovely older homes. Our neighborhood grammar school is excellent, with an equally strong middle and high school. People move into this neighborhood and stay for years. Neighbors are interested in home restoration and preservation issues, and there is an active neighborhood association. The immediate neighborhood benefits from close proximity to Seton Hall University, a large passive town park with jogging trails, the police station, and short walking distance to all town destinations. We are within a ten minute walk of all local businesses and services including town pool, Village Hall, new supermarket, coffee shops, eateries, cleaners, post office etc. South Orange is on the Morris Essex NJ Transit line with regular service east to Manhattan and west to Morristown. Many in our neighborhood and community commute to NYC via the midtown Direct train, a 30 minute direct NJ Transit ride to Penn Station or 20 minute ride to Hoboken. South Orange is in a prime location for regional and national travel with easy driving access to Newark Airport (15 minutes) and Amtrack Station in Newark (15 minutes).
