The pool is on the same floor, a short walk from the back door! Violet Crown Theater is a very easy walk as are numerous restaurants, nightspots, shopping, etc. Royal Blue Grocery (where everyone knows your name!) is on the ground floor and extremely friendly and convenient. Republic Park is a block away - site of weekly farmers markets and various other community dos. The Austin Music Hall is on the other side of the building for very easy access to all sorts of music events.
