Hi, I'm Justin We have a LARGE room for rent. :D Our house is looking for another human to occupy one of the rooms. Please read this WHOLE post before responding. We WANT another roommate, and we are in search of a good fit for the house. About the house: It is 3700 sqft, three floor, 5 bed/4 bath. My partner (Elise) and I live in the primary bedroom (one of the four total bedrooms on the upper floor). Of the three other bedrooms on the upper floor, one of them is a full time guest room, meaning NOT occupied long term. When friends/family come visit, we have a place for them to stay. It's an amenity for the whole house, so that applies to you too. If your friend(s) or family come to visit, they have a place to crash too. The other upstairs bedroom is occupied by our long-term roommate Rae. She will be sharing the bathroom with whoever occupies the room we have for rent. Rae is a super fun, very laid back, professional adult. She is a teacher, and uses the bathroom for 15-20 minutes in the morning to get ready for work. Rae is a clean adult, and keeps the bathroom in good condition. The ground/main floor has the great room (game/dance/living/dining/yoga/theater-room), kitchen, laundry, my office, Elise's office, a pantry, and garage access. The great room is where we host the dances, games, do after dinner stretch/yoga, Atlas (the cat) lounges in the window. It's where we have tea, TV, movie nights, and the general social atmosphere of the house exists. There is a giant beanbag. The pantry is a walk in, and it's got a lot of stuff in it, but there's definitely room for you to have a portion of space there. One fridge is presently just for Elise, myself, Hello Fresh, and La Croix. The other fridge is for you and Rae. Tim has a minifridge downstairs, and that meets his needs. The downstairs is a large floorplan that Tim occupies. There is also a LARGE storage space in the mechanical room there, so if you have some amount of things that need to be stored, we can manage. It probably does NOT accommodate large furniture, but it is pretty big, so play this one by ear. About the room itself: The bedroom available is the secondary bedroom upstairs. It is adjoined directly to the (shared) bathroom (the guest bed and Rae's rooms are NOT). It is 15'2"x11'10" with a large closet (8'5"x3'). The closet has the same height ceiling as the room, which makes for a lot of space. See photos. We have ample street parking, If this sounds like it might be a good fit for you, we would likely be excited to meet you and consider each other! We have some deal breakers right up front, and I'll offer an apology if this sounds a bit judgmental, but I don't want to waste our time, or yours. so if these apply to you, this probably won't be the right fit. This room has a shared bathroom (as noted) If you have a pet (or pets). We love pets, but we have a cat, and that is as much as the house can handle, so if you cannot be around a cat, that's also a deal breaker. :( If you smoke tobacco, (a couple of the housemates are edible folks, and we are ok if you smoke 420 OUTSIDE, there's a nice back patio). If you're ALWAYS stoned or drunk... that might be an issue, but if you're a social user, sure! Ok, if you're still reading, AWESOME! Now I get to share the positive stuff! There are 4 adults presently living here, my partner (Elise) and I occupy the primary bedroom, Rae, who will be sharing a bathroom with you, and Tim, who lives in the basement. We are a group of active, conversational, social 26-40 year olds with a TON of hobbies. The game wall has about 400 games on it. If you like cardboard, you'll fit in well. If you don't (yet), then you just haven't met the right game. Before you ask for our favorites: Hanabi, Set, The Crew, Underwater Cities, Darwin's Journey, Gloomhaven, Dune Imperium. The list goes on, but that's a starter. If you're a table gamer, that's a huge plus! Elise and I are both dance teachers (though we do other things professionally). We host a monthly fusion dance at our house on the first Saturday of each month from 19:30-00:30. It is a partnered (lead/follow) dance that brings together elements of Swing, Lindy Hop, Tango, Blues, and other partner dances. That means there WILL be lots of people over at least monthly for a dance/house party. We are social dancers, not deafening partiers or alcoholics. If you are a dancer, that's a huge plus! We like cooking together! Currently, we get 3 meals of Hello Fresh delivered weekly, and cook them together. When you don't cook, you do clean and vice versa. If you like family/friends style cooking/meals, that's a huge plus. We host a couple big parties each year, with around 30 people joining for all day merriment/funsies. We have a massive egg hunt, and a big Friendsgiving. Those are every year, but other things when the whim hits us. We have had a New Year's Eve murder mystery party before... That kind of thing. If you like throwing (social, not drunken) parties, you'll fit in well. Gaming, Dancing, Disc Golf, Yoga, Stretching, Climbing, Bowling, Mariokart-ing, Hitting the gym, Artistic/Engineering endeavors, reworking our back-yard into a paradise, and other general funsies together are what this house is about. If that sounds like the kind of environment you're looking for, then that's a huge plus! 6 months is negotiable... Truthfully, it's really more like month to month. We list it that way so that if it's not a good fit (for anyone), then it's not an interminable amount of time... Also, if it's just not a good fit, then there are no hard feelings. $1200/mo Street parking All household bills/utilities included, it's just easier. you don't have to bother with anything outside of your $1200/mo for the house. That covers water, sewer, power/etc.
