I think one of the things which made my home so great was the neighborhood. It is right across from a great elementary school and there is a little corner deli too but even more than that are the other people who live on the block, our neighbors. When my father lived there alone I never worried about him because of the neighbors. Even the owners of the deli would bring food over to him and check to see if he needed anything. This caring without being obtrusive is so very rare these days and makes my home very special.
